Multilevel inverter not only can generate the output voltage with very low distortion, but also can reduces the Electromagnetic Compatibility Problems (EMC). Proper selection of pulses in the Z-source MLI can limit the THD in the output voltage. Cascaded multilevel inverters have been developed for electric utility applications.
