With this in mind, the general objective of this study is to analyze the occurrence of adverse events in critically ill patients using mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit of the Tarcísio de Vasconcelos Maia Regional Hospital, Mossoró/RN, from the perspective of Patient Safety, as well as the specific objectives to outline the socio-demographic profile of patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Tarcísio de Vasconcelos Maia Regional Hospital, to identify adverse events in critically ill patients using mechanical ventilation during their stay in the Intensive Care Unit and to associate adverse events in critically ill patients using mechanical ventilation and patients not using mechanical ventilation during their stay in the Intensive Care Unit.
