Bioactive essential oil

About Bioactive essential oil

The total phenolic content was 252.35 mg TAE g-1 for the EO of C. limonia and L. nobilis, which is a significant result for the pharmacological activities of the essential oil. In the antioxidant activity assay, EC50 of 85.20 mg L-1, EC50 of 77.23 mg L-1, EC50 of 88.13 mg L-1, EC50 of 45.30 mg L-1 were obtained for the activity of EO and nanoemulsions (NEO 1, NEO 2 and NEO 3) of C.limonia and L. nobilis, respectively, which are found to be promising. The studied essential oil and its nanoemulsions (NEO 1, NEO 2 and NEO 3) obtained by crossing showed anti-inflammatory potential with EC50 of 161.84 mg L-1, EC50 of 220.07 mg L-1, EC50 of 186.85 mg L-1 and EC50 of 252.67 mg L-1, respectively. The results obtained confirmed the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of the oil obtained by crossing the species C.limonia and L.nobilis, and an increase in its potential when the oil is incorporated into nanoemulsions. It brings meaningful and unpublished results as it is not present in the literature, its application is appreciated and stimulates deeper studies due to its biotechnological potential.
