About Bridges to Leadership
While Projects hold importance, in Bridges to Leadership, Oded Agam reminds us: it's the people you'll remember and who'll remember you!
Agam led multi-billion-dollar strategic planning programs at Intel, the international tech giant. Prior to that, he worked for several high-tech startups after serving in the Israeli Navy. Currently, he is a managing partner of NextLeap Ventures. In addition, Agam chairs the executive board of a prominent Israeli non-profit, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Israel, and serves as President of the NYU Alumni Club of Israel. Through it all, his success has come via a simple plan: build bridges.
Our families, friends, employers, coworkers, employees, teachers, fellow alumni-everyone we meet and connect to-can become assets in our pursuit of success. In an amazing professional autobiography, Agam uses the bridge analogy to show how professional and personal relationships move us forward. Bridges are remarkable structures, but they require careful planning, piece-by-piece construction, and constant maintenance to be useful-as do relationships.
Agam shares what he's learned from his successes and his failures:
How the bridges he's built and nurtured helped him bootstrap a successful, unique, and differentiated venture capital firm. How the bridges he built between people, technology, and business enabled him to grow early-stage startups into revenue-generating growth companies. How he helped create a new, multi-billion-dollar product line by bridging the wide gaps between corporate departments. How his failure to cross a bridge when the way stood wide open led to the failure of a startup. How his leadership philosophy can inform, empower, and strengthen your leadership strategies and networks.
People want to work together, but differing priorities and a lack of understanding of how all the pieces in a successful project fit together can spell disaster. Agam demonstrates how to line up the pieces and rivet them into place, bridging where you are to where you want to be.
