Galian and Theo survived the island and are now back in their home countries. Galian has returned to the hospital, determined to try to use his royal status for good. But he finds himself stymied by a lack of confidence and the entrenched opinions of his peers.
Theo has become the new star of Rave, a symbol of Raven reslience, but she's reduced to smiling and waving behind the president, at war with herself over the scars from Mael. But when the president asks her to speak about the camp to the world, she prays for a miracle.
