  I recently started playing chess and wish that I would have found this book sooner! The author does a great job breaking down the game in its most basic form so that you can easily understand how to play it. Also, the illustration and diagrams in this book are very helpful. I highly recommend this book. I was provided with an advanced copy by the publisher, but plan on buying my own hard copy. I can't wait to go through this book with my kids!

  I bought this book to renew my knowledge of chess so I could play with my grandson. The joke being I would know what I did wrong when he beat me. He saw the book spending two days reading it from cover to cover. He said it is a great book.

  Simple and concise, with just enough depth to understand the theory behind the openings. Good for beginners who want to learn some good, common openings.

  Been playing chess for a few years and needed a straightforward resource to up my opening game. This book came at the perfect time. It contains a plethora of different opening syles to choos from, each of them thoroughly explained with the theory and strategy behind. Excited to go apply some of these openings and get some people rekt on chess.com :)

  Very enjoyable. It does a great job of bringing light to openings without the usual pedantic going on and on. There are some errors in notation but nothing you can't figure out. It was a happy day when I began reading this book.

  Very thorough analysis and well done. The steps you mention can be tinkered for any individual's preference, but an excellent list to get the mind in gear. I have it typed up and posted, and in time - may forward my personal touch. You book is an easy read and very instructive. Well done
