In The Columnist, journalist Simon Atlas eventually sees things for what they are and, as a result, becomes discredited in the eyes of his colleagues. Ultimately, he finds himself as a fugitive on the cusp of a revolutionary movement, spawned because the people have deferred their rights to experts who are leading the masses to destruction.
In The Conformist and the Misfit, conservative economist Stephen Cohen falls in love with liberal columnist Myra Foreman, a divorcée. But can opposites really attract?
