Dark Reaction

Twenty-six-year-old Kim Hart is happy living alone with her dog Loki and working at The Jade Castle restaurant. Apart from her occasionally waking gasping for breath-a condition she believes is related to sleep apnea-her life is great.
One night during a robbery after hours, Kim hears her friend's voice inside her head-Run. Later, he tells her that she was able to hear him telepathically through their Companions, an entity within each person composed of a community of microorganisms.
Suddenly, Kim finds herself thrust into a new world on the brink of destruction. The health of Companions has been faltering for decades, and Darachnids - dark matter parasites from the fourth dimension - are multiplying. If Darachnids continue to feed on the chemicals produced by glands responsible for positive emotions in vertebrates, crime and violence will continue to rise globally. Everyone is affected-except Kim.
As things reach a boiling point and crime is at an all-time high, Kim must race against the clock with Nekxus, a global company dedicated to studying the fourth dimension. They must determine why her Companion is so healthy and how she resists infestation from Darachnids...before humanity plummets into an apocalyptic wasteland.
