With the defeat of the Kaiser and Shadowguards by the Earth Corps and Dark Angels, the U.S. Army arrives under the command of General Owen Winters. Highbrow is finally reunited with his father Senator Douglas Powers, but the young captain is no longer human-he is now a super werepuma. When Highbrow learns supernatural creatures created by the mutating H1N1z virus are to be 'exterminated, ' he must decide whether to join his father or remain loyal to his friends.
Meanwhile, Commander Cadence, Dragon, Thor, and the rest of the Earth Corps discover the cyborg champion of the 'Death Games'-Aries of Athens-is actually the ancient Greek God of War. Aries works for Odin, the Norse 'All-father, ' who has waited for the fall of the Kaiser to make his presence known. When a handful of disgruntled Earth Corps members join Aries to create the 'Death Squad, ' the team is on the verge of collapse until a few lawful ancient immortals arrive...and they bring home a Dark Angel thought dead, who is stronger than ever.
