Elephant Hat and other playful pairs coloring book

The creative spark for Elephant Hat and other playful pairs coloring book comes from my experience as a primary school art teacher. In addition to the structured lessons I developed, I had a wood box called Mystery Draw where I wrote two nouns on index cards for the students to stretch their imaginations and draw a picture that combined the pairs. The students loved this activity. The unusual arrangements they drew was humorous and inspiring. Even though I wrote the combinations, I hadn't tried this activity during the school year.
When I took the Mystery Draw box home for the summer, I became inspired to pull from the box and draw my own combinations. As I pulled each card and drew, I kept going and made 30 pairs in a matter of days. I didn't stop there when I made digital files of my line drawings. This book showcases the pairs and six alternative arrangements designed to spark your imagination.
My intent of Elephant Hat and other playful pairs coloring book is to share my delight and joy in picturing playful pairs, coloring and creating unusual patterns. I also invite you to try your own original combinations. Welcome to the joy of imagining and coloring!
