Elises Eventyr i Undernes Land - Elise's Adventures in the Land of Wonders

About Elises Eventyr i Undernes Land - Elise's Adventures in the Land of Wonders

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is regarded as one of the most important children's books in the world, perhaps the most important one. In Norway, the story has been known as either Else i Eventyrland or Alice i Eventyrland. We have reason to believe that it was the sisters Augusta and Emma Hagerup (called E. A. Hagerup) who presented Lewis Carroll's story in Norwegian for the first time, in the magazine called Børnenes Blad ('Children's Magazine') on 1 October, 1870. This book chronicles this story, and presents the text in Norwegian and English translation, as well as a bibliography of Norwegian Alices.
