Global Perspectives on the Biology and Life History of the White Shark

A collection of papers presented at the International White Shark Symposium in 2010, this reference presents research focusing on the biology and management of white sharks. The majority of the papers presented are original research, with very few reviews, providing new, innovative information and understandings reached through the previous 15 years of research. Topics covered include techniques used to assess movement and migration patterns, habitat utilization, and daily activity patterns; laboratory techniques for molecular genetics, food, diet, and nutrient assimilation; and reproductive biology. Also discussed are policy directions for managers and researchers. Sections are organized thematically rather than geographically.
