About Grey Ranger

The Karish-tari sauropod herder or ranger was the strangest job in the Al-corian interstellar empire, that could only be done by a human being. Although a very traditional and respected profession that provided a stable livelihood, it required the ranger to be a poop spreader, planetary environmental spokesperson and defender, and also local hero. And unfortunately comes with the usual gaggle of fawning fan-girls. With the completion of the terraforming of Coulomb, thick conifer forests were planted and that meant that sauropods would be needed to keep in check the vegetation. Naturally the creatures needed a herder. Aktun was picked by Lord Denshalzar for the job because the lord thought it would be a rather easy job for the young man. Unfortunately, this required the young man to be adopted by a Karish-tari tribe, be given a new name and get extensive tattoos as a mark of his profession and membership in the tribe. This sparks off a series of unexpected adventures that introduces the ranger's traditional friends, enemies, history and place in Al-corian culture. And they said it was the easiest job in the universe! After all, what kind of training does a man need to watch giant dinosaurs munch on greenery?
