Have a Better Year

- 7 Keys to Help Change Your Perspective and Year

About Have a Better Year

Most of us associate our most memorable, life-changing, traumatic or triumphant life experiences to the years in which they occurred. Many of us also associate certain years with the songs that we love or that spoke to our experiences like a life-score. Memory experts have stated that we remember numbers and years more easily when distinct events occur in them. This is a proven fact, based on numerous studies. Although we often associate the overall quality of a year with the good experiences, we also unfairly label some years as "bad" because of a few unfortunate events. Additionally, many of us forsake our New Year's resolution when our year takes a few unexpected turns. Why does this happen? Is it our circumstances justifying how we perceive our year, or is it our perspective failing to make our circumstances irrelevant? In 2018, after experiencing the deaths of two family members and a close friend, I wondered if my recent years were just bad, or if I needed a better perspective. As a music producer, I am able to express my emotions through composing. After hearing a few beats that sounded similar, my wife suggested that I release them as an instrumental project. While driving, the project title "Have a Better Year" came to mind. I knew this concept deserved more, so I wrote my past years' experiences as a devotional and used the music track titles to supplement the devotions like a score. What emerged was a unique project - a musical project accompanying a 7-day devotional geared to help you change your perspective. Read this, listen to the groovy beats, practice the exercises, recite the affirmations, and watch how the perception of your year changes...for the better. Have a better year.
