I always thought my biological father was a scumbag criminal, too busy selling illicit drugs to take care of his only daughter. The truth, as it turns out, is ten times worse-he's a literal monster and he's taken my family hostage. Now, he's sending me to Southeastern University for the Magically Gifted, which is basically hell, high school, and a country club all rolled into one. He wants me to manifest my hidden powers, or something of that nature. But my powers are really good at hiding. As if being the only human at a school for the supernatural weren't bad enough, try being framed for murder, targeted by cultists (again!), and getting mixed signals from a totally hot but emotionally unavailable guy. Okay, maybe the last one isn't so bad.... All I know is, at the end of the day, I have to do anything I can to free my family and defeat Astaroth. Or die trying. But I'd prefer to avoid the latter option if possible. For fans of adventure-packed paranormal romance novels set in magical schools, featuring sarcastic heroines, supernatural peril, and slow-burn romance, this book is a must-read.
