Published in 1845, this is the second edition of Charles Darwin's famous journal from his five-year scientific expedition on H.M.S. Beagle. The observations and discoveries he published here eventually inspired his revolutionary theory of evolution by natural selection, and so created a storm in the scientific and religious communities.
