Light

The traveler, who had previously hiked arduous paths to discover the gifts of Wisdom and Knowing, is now lying on a hospital bed, all hopes of embarking on another hike surely dashed.
The stage 4 colon cancer has finally come to escort him to the door of death; the place he has spent his entire life fearing.
His next breath comes out as a wheeze and an unbearable pain grips his chest. The heart monitor beep beep beeps in alert. Nurses dash to his side.
Beep beep, beep beep...

His time has come.
Peace. Freedom. Love. Oh God, the feeling of Love. Light!
Everything hued in white.
