Looking forward to the past.

About Looking forward to the past.

Remember a time not so long ago when everything was black and white, before health and safety. Kids walked to school and played outside unsupervised. It was a time when nearly every household owned one television set with three channels, this was no fun especially on rainy days, the dreaded day indoors playing with your toys and watching children's hour with your brother or sister. Mucking around outside having hours of fun with the other kids was a lot more appealing, playing football or cricket, maybe a trip to the park for a go on the swings slide & the roundabout, in the woods building dens, climbing trees, hanging ropes to swing from, spending afternoons at the tip building go karts for races, making a guy for the bonfire on Guy Fawkes Night. We had no money, video games or mobile phones, but we were out there getting dirty exploring our surroundings, using our imagination enjoying our childhood. This book is filled with simple drawings of the things we used to do when I was a youngster, a reminder of the past long gone but kids were still able to have fun, making the most of what they had.
