About Making Him Loyal
More and more strangers were coming to warn me in whispered tones about Mark's infidelity. The signs were overwhelming. Mark was having an affair. Some of his friends knew it and even dropped hints. At the same time, Mark bragged to them about not having to worry about me cheating. This left me humiliated and angry. It was changing me. I found myself doing things that I never thought I would. One day, I got so angry when I found him and one of his side chicks in our bedroom that I grabbed the biggest knife I could find and chased her...How did it come to this? I mean, we met at a Christian youth camp for crying out loud! At the beginning, we had lots of fun together. We were always laughing and joking. He seemed to be serious about his relationship with God and regularly gave Bible studies. We did things the right way, so what happened? Later I realized there were some signs I had ignored at the time. When my first marriage ended, I was drained, angry, and depressed, almost to the point of being disabled. It got so bad that my mother had to help bathe me, a grown woman with 3 children. I almost lost my faith. But over the next few years, God would heal me and turn my life completely around. Now I enjoy a marriage where I don't have to "make him loyal." So how was I able to move to a new country, earn two college degrees, start a new career, and rebuild a new life with my three children? To share the story of how I got into that situation and how God turned ashes into beauty is exactly why I've written this story of hope.
