Of Migrants and Meanings

This study analyzes the ways in which Italian migrants commercialized food, constructed Italianness, and articulated community cohesion in Brussels at the turn of the twentieth century by focusing on Italian food businesses and the advertisements, names, people, practices, and products involved.
