In order to change our beliefs and perceptions, we must have a decision with such strong intention and energy that it surpasses the hardwired programs in our brain and body. This can happen when we have a transcendent experience that reorganizes the circuitry in our brain and sends a new emotional signal to the body. This is the moment when we become liberated from the past.

The process of transforming unknown terrain into known terrain starts with self-awareness. We need to understand our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in response to new situations. For example, if we are starting a new job, we may feel anxious and uncertain about our ability to succeed. By acknowledging and understanding these feelings, we can begin to develop coping strategies to manage our anxiety and build our confidence.
