The Ulstermen

Two thousand years ago a war took place in Ireland that pitted the High-Queen of its western province, Connacht, against the High-King of its northern province, Ulster. Fragments of the story have survived through word of mouth and later monastic writings. In a land of pagan superstition whole armies hold the outcomes of single combat as sacred. The young warriors, Ferdia and Setanta, who grew up together, find themselves on opposing sides in what can only end as a fight to the death, driven by love, loyalty, deception and betrayal. This is Iron Age Ireland, a land of swords and chariots, stone forts and river crossings, pristine bogs and mountains, and passions that cannot be tamed.
