Tomodachi

Family love, childhood moments, parent-child relationships are defining themes in the photography of Koichiro Kimura. For his photobook "Tomodachi" ("Friends"), Kimura took photographs every time his son went to poop on the toilet (the son, still too young to wipe himself, needed his father's assistance when going to the toilet), capturing the fine differences in his facial expressions - from the toughest fight to clear expressions of boredom. "I think that children live each and every day wholeheartedly, and going to the toilet is just one aspect of that. Children seem to consider pooping an amicable activity rather than a dirty.
