Weather Lore

This entertaining collection of proverbs, rhymes and sayings about the weather, reissued in its 1893 second edition, does not claim scientific accuracy. It does, however, include the notable observations that 'if spaniels sleep more than usual, it foretells wet weather' but 'if rats are more restless than usual, rain is at hand'.
