Why We All Need Therapy

About Why We All Need Therapy

"It has long been my belief that psychotherapy is at the growing point of human evolution. At the moment, it has a dubious reputation because of the pressure to provide short-term solutions. Consequently, we don't deal with problems at sufficient depth, nor do we pay enough attention to the social environment where we wish people to thrive. As human beings, even when we are healed, we all need to feel valued, to have meaningful connections to others and to the world around us, and an inspiring purpose. These are the primary requirements of our nature, and it is the lack of them in our broken society that causes us to seek compensations through, wealth, fame, addiction or attachment to minority groups and gangs. In these pages I hope to show how we can realign ourselves with our essential nature, forge nurturing communities and so build a more human friendly world." JF. "I am personally aware that Dr Lake greatly valued the quality of John Fletcher's work with him." Dr Roger Moss, consultant psychiatrist.
