This book details the life of a son of Italian immigrants. His story begins in a cave in the side of a mountain in the Colorado southern mining region and tracks through his childhood, his military service during WWII and his marriage and raising his own family. Looking at the trials and tribulations of growing up during the Great Depression in a light-hearted fashion reflects the spirit that made America great. Experience Tony's family and friends through the tragedies of losing loved ones but more important through the antics of a family of rebels and acts of mischievousness leaving one to wonder how one could ever survive childhood. Raised in a poor immigrant family only to begin his adult life, as many of this generation, in hardship and war, starting a family and rising through the economic ladder living the American dream so many strive for. His reunion with his family and his trip to Italy highlights many of his great adventures.
